VERONA, PA — A man was shot multiple times at a residence late Sunday evening in what police are calling a targeted incident.
Verona Police officers responded to a home in the 500 block of Vogels Lane at approximately 10:21 p.m. March 15 following reports of a shooting.
Officers discovered a male victim inside the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect fled the scene and has not been apprehended.
Verona Police, with assistance from Penn Hills, Oakmont and Plum police departments, conducted a search for the suspect.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Detectives are handling the investigation.
Police said preliminary evidence indicates the shooting was a targeted incident and does not appear to be a random act of violence.
Authorities said there is no broad, ongoing threat to the public.
Police are asking residents who saw anything unusual around Vogels Lane or the surrounding area Sunday night to contact the Verona Police Department or the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
