Man arrested on warrants in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI — State police arrested a Cranston man on three outstanding warrants during a wellness check on Garfield Avenue.

Richard Manfredo, 42, of Cranston, was taken into custody at 12:30 p.m. on three Washington County Superior Court full bench warrants for failure to appear for presentment as a violator.

The warrants stem from original charges of possession of a Schedule I-V substance and manufacturing/delivery/possession with intent, all originating from the Westerly Police Department.

Manfredo was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institute-Men’s Intake Center.

In a separate incident at 5:28 p.m., troopers arrested Joseph Paine, 39, of Cranston, during a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in Providence.

Paine was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Westerly Police Department on an original charge of possession of a Schedule I-V substance, 10 grams or less.

He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and later turned over to the Westerly Police Department.
