Driver arrested on DUI charge in Norwich

NORWICH, VT — A Corinth woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 91 on March 15.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks were dispatched at approximately 5:15 p.m. to a crash on Interstate 91 northbound near mile marker 80.4.

Following an investigation, troopers determined the operator, Shannon C. Gaetz, 48, of Corinth, had operated a motor vehicle in a negligent manner.

While on scene, troopers observed indicators of impairment.

Gaetz was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Hartford Police Department for processing.

She was released with a criminal citation to appear in Windsor Criminal Court in White River Junction on March 31 at 8:30 a.m.

Gaetz was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Her 2023 Subaru Crosstrek sustained significant damage to the front end, passenger side and driver side.

No injuries were reported.
