Man arrested on child pornography charges in Amherst

AMHERST, NY — A 44-year-old man was arrested March 10, 2026, on charges of promoting and possessing sexual performances by a child.

Michael D. Hojsan of Amherst was charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation stationed at State Police Clarence, with assistance from the Troop A Computer Crimes Unit, conducted an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation in Amherst.

The investigation determined Hojsan possessed child pornography and was disseminating child pornography.

Hojsan was arraigned in Amherst Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to return to court later in March 2026.
