Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Oriskany Falls

ORISKANY FALLS, NY — A traffic stop on Broad Street resulted in a drug arrest Thursday afternoon.

A patrol deputy assigned to the Waterville Field Office conducted the traffic stop around 4:15 p.m. March 13, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as John Klein of Bridgewater.

During the investigation, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit with K-9 “Mastro” was dispatched to the scene.

The K-9 discovered a quantity of methamphetamine in Klein’s possession, Maciol said.

Klein was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

He was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building where he was processed and issued an appearance ticket for the charge.

Klein was also issued multiple uniform traffic tickets related to the stop.

He is scheduled to appear in Town of Augusta Court at a later date.
