Woman arrested on felony fugitive charge in Whitehall

WHITEHALL, NY — A woman wanted for violating probation in Vermont was arrested Friday on a felony Fugitive of Justice charge, according to Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy.

Stacey L. Jones, also known as Ross, 58, of Whitehall, was taken into custody after an investigation determined she was wanted by the State of Vermont.

Jones was wanted for violating the terms of her probation stemming from a prior arrest in Vermont.

She is being held without bail pending arraignment in Centralized Arraignment and is also scheduled to appear in Washington County Court at a later date.

The arrest was handled by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol and Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Vermont State Department of Corrections.
