MIDDLEPORT, NY — A Lockport man was arrested Thursday on multiple felony charges related to incidents that occurred in 2025.
Luke E. Smeal, 24, of Lockport, was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, a class B felony, first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Smeal on March 13 following an extensive investigation.
Smeal was employed as a babysitter for a child under the age of 5 in the village, where all of the reported incidents occurred.
Smeal was held for Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
