PALMER TOWNSHIP, PA — Police arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence after reports of a reckless driver nearly crashing multiple times.
On Tuesday at approximately 8:25 p.m., Palmer Township Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Nazareth Road for a reckless driver operating a gray Nissan SUV.
The vehicle was reportedly swerving back and forth on the travel lanes and almost crashing several times.
A responding officer who was monitoring traffic at a nearby intersection located the vehicle parked with a male operator still seated in the driver’s seat.
The investigating officer spoke with the male operator, who displayed signs of impairment.
The operator was unable to provide any information requested by the officer.
The man was placed into custody without incident and transported for identification and further processing.
The man was later identified as Ernesto Mendez Martinez, 44, of Pennsylvania.
He was later arraigned by Magisterial District Justice McClure and bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
Mendez Martinez is charged with DUI and careless driving.
