CAMP HILL, PA — A 57-year-old woman is accused of stealing more than $27,000 from her mother who was a resident at a skilled nursing facility.
Camp Hill Police began investigating a theft on Nov. 21 from a resident at Camp Hill Skilled Nursing located at 1700 Market Street.
Police said the daughter of a care-dependent resident was taking money out of the resident’s bank account without permission and using it for her own personal benefit.
The daughter was supposed to be using the money to pay for her mother’s bills while she was a resident in the nursing home, which was not being done, according to police.
The amount of money that was unlawfully taken by the daughter from her mother was $27,462, police said.
The Camp Hill woman was charged with financial exploitation of an older adult or care-dependent person, theft by unlawful taking, misapplication of entrusted property and property of government and financial institutions, and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received.
