Woman arrested on child endangerment charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A woman was arrested after allegedly striking her juvenile son with a plastic bat during a domestic dispute.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to an eastside address at approximately 8:05 p.m. March 11, 2026.

Through investigation, police determined that Amy Anderson had struck her juvenile son with a plastic bat as a form of disciplinary action.

The incident caused injury and swelling to the top of the juvenile’s head.

Anderson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment.

Anderson will be charged with endangering the welfare of a child and assault in the third degree.
