VEAZIE, ME — Police are warning the public about a suspected online scam involving a business calling itself “CASCO BAY CLASSIC CARS LLC.”
The business claims to be located in Veazie, according to the Veazie Police Department.
The website advertises classic vehicles at prices far below market value and asks buyers to send payment with the promise that the vehicle will be shipped after purchase.
Victims send payment but never receive the vehicle, police said.
Police are working to have the website associated with the scam shut down.
Authorities are urging caution when purchasing vehicles online and advising buyers to thoroughly verify any seller before sending money.
Anyone who believes they may have been affected by the scam is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
