MOULTONBOROUGH, NH — A Meredith man has died from injuries sustained in a February collision on Whittier Highway.
John Fahey, 87, of Meredith, passed away March 10 due to injuries from the Feb. 27 crash, according to Moultonborough Police Chief Peter W. Beede Jr.
The collision occurred at 4:39 p.m. in front of the Village Kitchen restaurant on Whittier Highway.
Police determined that Mary Fahey, 83, of Meredith, was pulling out of the restaurant parking lot when she pulled directly into the path of Tessa McDerby, 29, of Conway, who was traveling eastbound on Whittier Highway.
Mary Fahey and her passenger, John Fahey, sustained serious injuries and were transported by Stewart’s Ambulance to Concord Hospital-Laconia.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were removed from the scene by John’s Towing.
Mary Fahey was deemed at fault for the collision for driver inattention and failure to yield the right of way.
No criminal charges will be filed after consultation with the Carroll County Attorney’s Office.
The case will be referred to the New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Motor Vehicles for administrative action.
