WALTON, NY — A Hamden woman faces multiple charges following a single-vehicle crash near a solid waste facility.

Christina Lorusso, 37, of Hamden, was arrested Feb. 19 after her vehicle left the roadway and crashed into fencing at the Delaware County Solid Waste Management Facility on State Highway 10.

Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash at approximately 11:48 p.m.

An investigation found Lorusso was traveling north on the roadway leading to the facility when she drove off the road and over an embankment, crashing into State Department of Transportation perimeter fencing.

Her vehicle became stuck at the scene.

Deputies arrested Lorusso and charged her with driving while intoxicated.

She was also issued a traffic summons for moving from lane unsafely.

Lorusso was released on summonses and directed to appear in Walton Town Court at a later date.

On the morning of Feb. 20, personnel from the solid waste facility notified deputies that the front gate to the facility had been damaged by Lorusso’s vehicle.

On Feb. 26, deputies located Lorusso and issued an additional traffic summons for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
