TEWKSBURY, MA — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested a Lawrence man on multiple charges on Tuesday.
Carlos Candelario, 35, of Lawrence, was arrested and charged with kidnapping, rape, deriving support from prostitution, trafficking of a person for sexual servitude, possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (three counts), possession with intent to distribute a Class E drug, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession of a firearm without an FID card and improper storage of a firearm.
On Tuesday, March 10, Tewksbury Police were notified that a woman reported that she had left her home with a man, brought to a location on Main Street in Tewksbury, and was then held at that location against her will.
A preliminary investigation determined that Candelario was the suspect in question.
Tewksbury Police located and arrested Candelario at a motel located at 95 Main St., without incident.
During a subsequent search of Candelario’s room, officers located a loaded firearm and multiple bags of what are believed to be cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl.
Candelario was arraigned at Lowell District Court and is being held without bail.
