RUTLAND, VT — Two Castleton residents were arrested on drug charges March 10, 2026, following a traffic stop on Business Route 4 near Old Brick Furniture.
Vermont State Police troopers from the Rutland Barracks, assisted by the Vermont Drug Task Force, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at approximately 2:56 p.m.
During the stop, troopers identified the passenger as Jamie Daniels, 38, of Castleton, who had an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Troopers took Daniels into custody after she resisted arrest, according to police.
She was transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
Troopers obtained a search warrant for Daniels’ property and vehicle.
Police said they found a large amount of cocaine and fentanyl, as well as a large sum of cash, in her property.
Troopers also located cocaine belonging to Jeffrey York, 55, of Castleton, inside the vehicle, according to police.
Daniels was charged with cocaine possession, fentanyl trafficking and resisting arrest.
She was issued a citation and released to the custody of Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility, where she was held without bail on the warrant.
York responded to the barracks and was charged with cocaine possession.
He was issued a citation to appear in court at a later date and released.
The Rutland Town Police Department assisted in the investigation.
