Two women arrested on larceny charges in Highland

HIGHLAND, NY — Two women were arrested and charged with petit larceny after allegedly stealing office supplies from an assisted living facility where they worked.

Shakira A. Carrington, 42, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested March 3 and accused of stealing approximately $400 in office supplies from the facility.

Sabrina A. Zachary, 37, of Highland, was also arrested March 3 on the same charge and accused of stealing approximately $400 in office supplies from the facility.

Both women were released on appearance tickets and are due in Town of Lloyd Court March 19, 2026.

In separate incidents, Town of Lloyd Police also reported the following arrests:

Kira A. Colon, 23, of Wappingers Falls, was arrested March 1 and charged with driving while intoxicated after the vehicle she was operating was stopped for traffic violations on Route 9W in Highland.

She was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Town of Lloyd Court March 19, 2026.

Michael A. Bruni-Smith, 23, of Beacon, was arrested March 1 and charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree after he was involved in a domestic dispute.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Town of Lloyd Court March 5, 2026.

Jason Cruz, 33, of Highland, was arrested March 4 on an arrest warrant for felony criminal mischief in the third degree from the City of Kingston Police.

Cruz was turned over to the City of Kingston Police on the warrant.

Stalin D. Chicaiza Yaucan, 27, of Kingston, was arrested Feb. 27 on a bench warrant for petit larceny and conspiracy in the sixth degree from the Town of Ulster Police.

He was turned over to the Town of Ulster Police on the warrant.
