Second arrest made in Jamestown shooting

JAMESTOWN, NY — Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a shooting that left a man severely injured last summer.

Ian N. Sanchez, 24, of Jamestown, was arrested March 6 on a Chautauqua County indictment for attempted murder and assault in the first degree.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of July 24 in the area of East 2nd Street and Cheney Street.

A male victim was found in the area with gunshot wounds that caused severe injuries.

Xavier M. Ramos, 23, of Jamestown, was previously arrested July 25 and charged with assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon.

Ramos is currently incarcerated.

Sanchez was arraigned March 9 in County Court and was committed to Chautauqua County Jail on $100,000 bail.
