FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield police arrested a Bridgeport man on a weapons charge during an investigation into an armed robbery at a convenience store.
Wesner Thelamour, 40, of Bridgeport, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit after detectives executed search warrants at his home and vehicle.
Police responded to News Express at 200 Tunxis Hill Road at approximately 9 p.m. March 2, 2026, for a report of an armed robbery in progress.
A masked individual entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store employee, according to police.
The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The Fairfield Detective Bureau processed the scene and began investigating several leads in the case.
Detectives used a combination of technological and traditional investigative methods while working with the Stamford and Bridgeport police departments to identify and track down individuals connected to the incident.
During the investigation, detectives identified similarities between this incident and cases being investigated by the Stamford Police Department.
Detectives found Thelamour in possession of a handgun while executing the search warrants.
He was transported to the Fairfield Police Department, where he was processed and held on $20,000 bond.
Detectives found multiple pieces of evidence during the searches that will result in additional charges relating to the robbery, according to police.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
