BRIDGEPORT, CT — Naugatuck detectives arrested an 18-year-old man on multiple gun charges after finding him in possession of an illegal handgun during a traffic stop on Main Street.
Dan Muzemboko Yale, of Naugatuck, was stopped on the night of March 7 into March 8 after detectives obtained search-and-seizure warrants for a home in Naugatuck, a vehicle, and Yale himself.
Detectives received information during the week of Feb. 18 that Yale was potentially in possession of an illegal handgun.
During the execution of the search warrants, detectives found and seized one 9mm “Glock” style handgun from Yale.
The gun did not have a serial number, which means it could not be traced and was likely made illegally.
The gun also had an extended magazine that could hold 27 rounds.
Yale was charged with carrying of pistol or revolver without a permit, weapons in vehicles, possession of a firearm without a serial number, and possession of high-capacity magazine.
He was held at the Naugatuck Police Department on a $150,000 bond.
Yale appeared in Waterbury Superior Court on March 9.
