Two women arrested on obstruction charges in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI — Two Connecticut women were arrested early this morning following a motor vehicle stop on Orms Street.

Shamaneka B. Mckenzie, 32, of Manchester, Connecticut, was arrested at 12:41 a.m. and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer in the execution of duty.

Jeniqua A. Yopp, 30, of Willimantic, Connecticut, was arrested at the same time and charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of duty.

Both women were transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where they were processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Sixth Division District Court.

In a separate incident at 3:35 a.m., Jose Vizcaino, 27, of Pawtucket, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue.

Vizcaino was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for disposition on an original charge of domestic violence – simple assault originating from the Pawtucket Police Department.

He was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed and then transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.
