PLYMOUTH, ME — A man was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person following a child well-being investigation.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received concerning information regarding possible child abuse at a residence in Plymouth on March 8, 2026, at approximately 8 a.m.
Deputies promptly initiated an investigation into the report.
During the course of their inquiry, investigators learned that one of the individuals involved, Lardarrias Williams, 30, of Florida, may be in possession of firearms.
Further checks revealed that Williams has a prior felony conviction for domestic violence assault in Florida, making him a prohibited person under federal and state law from possessing firearms.
Based on the information gathered, deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence to ensure the well-being of the children and to search for any firearms.
Upon execution of the warrant, a handgun along with assorted ammunition was located and seized.
Williams was subsequently arrested and transported to the Penobscot County Jail, where he was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Department of Health and Human Services personnel examined the children on scene.
It was determined that the children were safe to remain at the residence for the night.
The case remains ongoing.
