WORCESTER, MA — A 22-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police and discarding a ghost gun during a foot pursuit.

Carlos Ketter, of Worcester, was arrested on March 7, 2026, following a traffic stop that escalated into a vehicle and foot chase.

Worcester Police officers initially observed Ketter fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign at approximately 7:49 p.m.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at Millbury Street and Fifth Avenue, where Ketter identified himself and stated he did not have a valid driver’s license.

Ketter then drove off at a high rate of speed and drove recklessly down several streets, according to police.

He exited his vehicle on Fox Street and ran from officers, failing to put his car in park, which resulted in the vehicle hitting two police cruisers.

During the foot pursuit, officers observed Ketter throw an object onto the offramp by I-290.

Officers apprehended Ketter and placed him in handcuffs.

Police recovered a firearm in the area where Ketter was seen throwing an object.

The firearm was later determined to be a ghost gun without a serial number.

Ketter did not have a license to carry or an FID Card, according to police.

Massachusetts State Police assisted in the search and recovered a black magazine and loose ammunition.

The Worcester Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit took possession of the gun.

Ketter is charged with Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Receiving an Untraceable Firearm, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (x2), Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle, Operating to Endanger, along with a number of other driving-related charges.
