HUDSON, NH — A woman is facing multiple charges following a violent domestic disturbance Thursday afternoon that allegedly involved an illegal entry and an assault with a fireplace log.
Hudson Police officers were dispatched to a residence at approximately 2:56 p.m. March 5 following reports of a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, the victim informed officers that a woman had broken into the home and physically assaulted him before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
While units were responding to the home, patrol officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle near the intersection of Central Street and Kimball Hill Road.
Following a motor vehicle stop, police identified the driver as Perette Cook, 53, of Hudson.
According to police reports, the investigation revealed that Cook allegedly entered the residence without permission while the victim was in the shower.
The victim stated that Cook confronted him in the bathroom and struck him in the face.
The altercation reportedly escalated and moved to a second-floor balcony, where the victim was punched several more times.
The violence allegedly continued downstairs, where Cook is accused of picking up a fireplace log and striking the victim in the arm before leaving the premises.
Responding officers noted visible injuries on the victim, including a contusion on his arm and a split lip.
During the booking process at the Hudson Police Department, officers discovered a prescription pill bottle in Cook’s purse containing various pills that did not match the label.
Cook faces charges including burglary, three counts of domestic violence – simple assault, two counts of domestic violence – second degree assault and two counts of possession of a controlled drug.
Cook was held without bail due to the felony nature of the domestic assault charges.
She was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections and is scheduled for arraignment today at 1 p.m. in the Ninth Circuit Court – Nashua District Division.
