Man arrested on DWI charge in Bath

BATH, NY — A traffic stop on East Washington Street late Saturday led to the arrest of a man on felony DWI charges after police say a young child was found in the vehicle.

Joshua A. Bollinger, 33, of Avoca, was pulled over at approximately 11:50 p.m. Feb. 21, 2026, after a Village of Bath Police Department officer observed a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Police say Bollinger exhibited multiple signs of impairment during the stop.

A 1.5-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle at the time, according to police.

Bollinger was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI with a child passenger less than 15 years old, a Class E felony, and driving while ability impaired by drugs, also a Class E felony.

He was also charged with consuming cannabis in a motor vehicle, a violation, and failure to signal prior to 100 feet of a turn, a violation.

Bollinger was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he was released.
