Police warn of door-to-door scam activity in East Orange

EAST ORANGE, NJ — The East Orange Police Department is warning residents about a rise in door-to-door scams involving individuals impersonating utility and service workers.

According to police, reports have increased of scam artists posing as employees from companies such as PSE&G and Verizon.

Authorities urge residents to exercise caution and use security measures, including doorbell cameras, to identify visitors before answering the door.
