DENVER, PA — A 34-year-old man faces felony theft and forgery charges after allegedly stealing checks from his former employer.
Edward Harris Ladoski Jr., of Newmanstown, Pennsylvania, was charged March 5 by Ephrata Police Department with theft by unlawful taking and forgery.
The investigation began in September 2025 when the victim received notification from Ephrata National Bank that three checks totaling $3,400 had been issued to Ladoski.
The victim discovered three checks were missing from his checkbook that he had not authorized.
Police determined Ladoski stole the checks from the victim’s checkbook when he visited his former employer, American Pole Barn LLC, to collect personal belongings.
The checks were later deposited at Ephrata National Bank branches in Ephrata, Akron and Lititz, Pennsylvania, during August 2025.
In a police interview, Ladoski admitted to stealing the checks and forging the victim’s signature for personal financial benefit.
Following arraignment at Magisterial District Justice Landis’ office, Ladoski was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
