Arrests made in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — Troopers arrested Luis Acevedo Lopez, 22, of Providence at 10 a.m. on multiple charges, including forgery and counterfeiting, obtaining property by false pretenses or personation over $10,000, and fraudulent checks over $1,500.

The arrest resulted from an investigation by the Lincoln Woods Barracks and a warrant check conducted by troopers at Acevedo Lopez’s residence in Providence.

Acevedo Lopez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing and was later turned over to Third Division District Court for arraignment.

At 5:30 p.m., troopers arrested Ame Amefia, 24, of Little Compton on a charge of reckless driving and other offenses against public safety – first offense.

According to Rhode Island State Police, the arrest followed a barracks investigation, with Amefia turning herself in at the State Police Lincoln Barracks.

Amefia was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a notice to appear at Sixth Division District Court.
