Five arrested in separate drug investigations in Albany

ALBANY, NY — Five individuals have been arrested in connection with two separate narcotics investigations.

On Wednesday around 10:30 a.m., detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on the 200 block of Ontario Street near Hamilton Street in reference to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the search warrant, detectives recovered a quantity of crack cocaine and powder cocaine.

Lesean Coakley, 47, of Albany was located inside the residence and taken into custody.

Coakley has been charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd and one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.

Another search warrant was executed on Wednesday around 6:05 p.m. at a residence on the 400 block of Central Avenue near Ontario Street by detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Community Response Unit in reference to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the search warrant a quantity of crack cocaine was recovered.

Multiple individuals were located inside the residence and taken into custody.

Jackie Davies, 59, of Albany has been charged with one count of Criminal Nuisance.

Lanette Stearns, 46, of Albany has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, and one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.

Salona Smith, 36, of Albany has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

Megan McComish, 34, of Albany has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

Davies, Smith, and McComish were given appearance tickets and will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on a later date.

Stearns was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and released to the supervision of Albany County Probation Services.
