Man arrested on stabbing charge in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — A Providence man was arrested following a reported stabbing at Bally’s Twin River Casino on March 3, 2026.

The Lincoln Police Department responded to the casino at approximately 10:30 p.m. for the reported stabbing.

Responding officers determined that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Initial information indicated that the victim was not located within the Town of Lincoln at the time.

The incident became a multijurisdictional effort involving the Rhode Island State Police, Providence Police, and Bally’s Twin River Casino Security and Surveillance teams.

Investigators gathered information, identified the suspect, and coordinated efforts across jurisdictions.

The suspect was located on scene and taken into custody.

William Pona, 27, of Providence, was identified as the suspect.

The victim was later located and confirmed to be receiving medical treatment.

Pona was held in custody and is scheduled to be arraigned today at the Kent County Courthouse.
