JAMESTOWN, NY — Police arrested a man after discovering he was with someone protected by an active order of protection.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a domestic dispute at a south side residence around 4 p.m. March 3, 2026.
Police were called for reports of a man and woman arguing in a common hallway.
While investigating, officers encountered William D. Dunlap Jr. at his residence.
When Dunlap opened the door, officers observed another person inside.
Officers learned the person inside had an active full stay away order of protection against Dunlap.
Dunlap was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident.
He is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree.
Dunlap was held overnight pending arraignment.
