Man arrested on child sexual abuse material charge in Madison

MADISON, CT — A 78-year-old Madison man has been arrested on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material following a multi-month investigation.

Kenneth Sloan was arrested on Feb. 26, 2026, and transported to New Haven Superior Court where he was held on a $50,000 bond.

The Guilford Police Department received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Oct. 1, 2024, regarding an individual suspected of possessing child sexual abuse material.

Detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence in Madison on Jan. 7 where numerous electronic devices were seized.

Following an extensive investigation, Guilford detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Sloan for violation of Connecticut General Statutes 53a-196e, Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material in the Second Degree.

The Guilford Police Department is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a nationwide network of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating, prosecuting and preventing technology-facilitated child exploitation.

The Madison Police Department, Wallingford Police Department, Westport Police Department, New Britain Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, the Connecticut State Forensic Laboratory and the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation.
