PORTLAND, PA — A high school student is in police custody following a weeks-long investigation into repeated threats directed at students and staff of David Douglas High School.
The investigation began during the second week of December after a threat was phoned in to the high school.
Over the next two months, approximately twelve additional threats were received.
The threats indicated potential harm to students and staff, prompting a coordinated response between the Portland Police Bureau and school officials.
Through investigative efforts, officers identified a 15-year-old male student from Pennsylvania as the suspect.
On Tuesday, the juvenile was arrested without incident by East Precinct and School Liaison officers.
He was transported to the Donald E Long Juvenile Detention Center.
He was lodged on multiple charges, including Disorderly Conduct in the First Degree, Telephonic Harassment, Coercion, and Harassment.
