RUTLAND, VT — Vermont State Police arrested two people early Sunday morning after responding to a noise complaint on Curtis Avenue.

Police were called to the residence at approximately 12:36 a.m. March 2 by the Rutland City Police Department due to other calls within the city.

Multiple residents in the area reported excessively loud noise and music coming from the residence, according to police.

The residence had been visited earlier that evening by Rutland City Police, who made an arrest of another occupant at that time.

When state police arrived, occupants refused to answer the door and turned the music up louder, police said.

Troopers were planning to seize the residence pending a search warrant when the occupants exited.

Two occupants continued screaming and making unreasonable noise outside while troopers attempted to speak with them, according to police.

Jenna Thompson, 24, of Rutland, was taken into custody after John Pandiani, 53, of Rutland, attempted to impede her arrest, police said.

Thompson resisted arrest and assaulted troopers by kicking and punching them, according to police.

Both were transported to Rutland City Police Department for processing.

At the police department, Thompson continued to be assaultive and kicked troopers and spit at them, police said.

Thompson was charged with noise in the nighttime, resisting arrest and assault on a protected professional.

Pandiani was charged with noise in the nighttime and impeding public officers.

Bail was set at $500 for each defendant.

Both were lodged at Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility.

They are scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Rutland on March 2 at 12:30 p.m.
