LONDONDERRY, NH — A Manchester man faces multiple charges after allegedly shoplifting from two stores and assaulting a loss prevention officer on March 2.
Luis Concepcion, 54, of Manchester, was arrested following incidents at the New Hampshire State Liquor Store on Rockingham Road and Market Basket on Michels Way.
Officer LaFlamme responded to the liquor store at approximately 10:36 a.m. for a reported shoplifting.
The suspect allegedly stole three bottles of Don Julio totaling $109.97.
Officers were dispatched to Market Basket approximately fifteen minutes later for a reported shoplifting and assault.
Upon arrival, officers found Concepcion being detained in the parking lot by a Market Basket employee and two witnesses, one of whom was an off-duty police officer.
Police determined that Concepcion exited Market Basket with approximately $149.00 worth of merchandise without paying.
When a loss prevention officer attempted to photograph the suspect’s vehicle and contact police, he was assaulted by Concepcion, according to police.
The loss prevention officer took Concepcion to the ground, where he was detained with the assistance of the two witnesses until officers arrived.
Officers observed three bottles of Don Julio on the front seat of Concepcion’s green Subaru.
Concepcion was charged with theft by unauthorized taking – two prior convictions, robbery, theft by unauthorized taking, receiving stolen property, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
He was held on preventative detention pending his arraignment on March 3 in Derry District Court.
