Man arrested on multiple charges in Lyndonville

LYNDONVILLE, VT — A 47-year-old man faces his sixth DUI charge following a traffic stop on Red Village Road on Jan. 15.

Alan Brown, of Lyndon, was stopped by a Lyndonville Police Department patrol officer at 9:28 p.m. for motor vehicle violations.

Police said Brown displayed signs of impairment due to a substance other than alcohol.

Brown was operating the vehicle while under lifetime criminal suspension for prior DUI-related actions, according to police.

He was also in violation of various conditions of release, police said.

Brown was arrested without incident and an evidentiary blood draw was obtained with assistance from Lyndon Rescue.

Police obtained a search warrant from Caledonia Superior Court to search the vehicle.

Substances that field tested presumptively positive for the chemical properties of cocaine and fentanyl were seized, according to police.

Brown faces charges of DUI #6 (drugs), driving with a license suspended (#4) for DUI, three counts of violation of conditions of release, possession of cocaine and possession of depressant/stimulant/narcotic drug.

He was released to a sober party with a citation into Caledonia Superior Court.

Brown is scheduled to be arraigned on April 27 at 8:30 a.m.
