LINCOLN, RI — Two Massachusetts men were arrested on multiple fraud charges on March 1, 2026, by the Rhode Island State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit.
Brian J. Elliott, 28, of Mattapan, Massachusetts, was charged with one count of bank fraud, four counts of obtaining money under false pretenses over $1,500, two counts of obtaining money under false pretenses under $1,500, one count of passing counterfeit certificates, bill or notes, one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit obtaining money under false pretenses, and one count of conspiracy to commit passing counterfeit certificates, bill or notes.
Elliott was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and released on $25,000 personal recognizance bail after appearing before a bail commissioner.
James L. Perry, 29, of Norwood, Massachusetts, was charged with one count of bank fraud, one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over $1,500, one count of obtaining money under false pretenses under $1,500, one count of passing counterfeit certificates, bill or notes, one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit obtaining money under false pretenses, and one count of conspiracy to commit passing counterfeit certificates, bill or notes.
Perry was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and released on $25,000 personal recognizance bail after appearing before a bail commissioner.
