LAWRENCE, MA — Two men were arrested on drug trafficking charges Wednesday following a patrol of Manchester Street Park.
Members of the Lawrence Police Department’s Quality-of-Life Unit, along with officers from the Methuen Police Department, conducted a directed patrol of the park’s walking trail on Feb. 25, 2026.
The area has generated numerous prior calls for service involving quality-of-life concerns and criminal activity, according to police.
Officers observed a group congregating near a tent and witnessed behavior consistent with hand-to-hand drug transactions.
Two adult males were detained and found to be in possession of multiple baggies containing suspected narcotics.
Officers confiscated approximately 28 grams of suspected Class A heroin, 9.0 grams of suspected Class A fentanyl, 16.2 grams of suspected Class B crack cocaine and $381 in U.S. currency.
Both individuals were charged with trafficking in Class A (28 grams or more), possession with intent to distribute Class A and possession with intent to distribute Class B.
