MOUNT HOLLY, VT — A Shrewsbury man faces a drunken driving charge after his vehicle became stuck and he was found walking around a residence.
Edmund Gaines, 65, of Shrewsbury, was arrested March 1, 2026.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks responded to a report of a suspicious male walking around a house at approximately 11:33 p.m.
Investigation revealed Gaines had gotten his vehicle stuck near Dawley Road North.
During the investigation, Gaines displayed several signs of impairment, police said.
Gaines was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland Barracks.
He was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court – Rutland Criminal Division on March 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to answer to the charge of driving under the influence.
