MIDDLEFIELD, NY — A woman faces multiple charges following a motor vehicle accident investigation on Feb. 17.
Jennifer L. Hewitt, 38, of Cooperstown, was arrested by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly fleeing the scene of a property damage accident.
Deputies located Hewitt in the vicinity of the accident and determined she had been operating the vehicle while intoxicated, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Hewitt was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, aggravated unlicensed operator in the third degree, unlicensed operator, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speed not reasonable and prudent, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
She also faces charges of failure to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of a change of address, having no registration sticker or more than one registration sticker, failure to keep right, driving on the shoulder, and operating an uninspected motor vehicle.
Hewitt was processed and released with uniform traffic tickets.
She is scheduled to appear in Middlefield Town Court at a later date.
