GREENWICH, CT — A man was arrested after police found him hiding in a crawlspace during a search of an unoccupied residence on Feb. 28, 2026.

Multiple police units were dispatched to the central part of town at approximately 8 p.m. following a report of two individuals observed on surveillance video inside an unoccupied residence.

The suspects fled the area before officers arrived.

K-9 units and aerial drone support were requested to assist in locating the suspects, including a drone unit from the Stamford Police Department.

Officers tracked the suspects on foot through the neighborhood to a second unoccupied residence less than half a mile from the original burglary, where fresh damage was observed to a second-story window.

The homeowners confirmed that no one was authorized to be inside the residence.

Believing the suspects had entered the home while attempting to evade capture, officers made entry and conducted a systematic search of the residence.

One suspect was located hiding within a stairwell that led to a small crawlspace and complied with orders to surrender without incident.

The suspect was identified as Jonathan Rojas-Urriola.

He was charged with two counts of burglary in the first degree, one count of possession of burglary tools and one count of larceny in the sixth degree.

Rojas-Urriola was held on a $200,000 bond, which he was unable to post.

He is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court.
