Snowmobile crashes into truck in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, VT — A snowmobile operator was transported to a hospital with suspected moderate injuries after crashing into a truck on Feb. 27, 2026.

Timothy Cousino, 46, of Bristol, was traveling west on Trail 17 on a 2004 Arctic Cat F7 at approximately 8:22 p.m. when the crash occurred.

Gary Boutin, 46, of East Middlebury, was traveling north on U.S. Route 7 in a 2022 Ford F-350.

Vermont State Police said Cousino failed to stop at the trail end to cross U.S. Route 7 and struck the side of Boutin’s truck at the intersection of U.S. Route 7 and Trail 17.

Cousino was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to University of Vermont Medical Center.

Boutin was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The snowmobile sustained totaling damage, while the truck sustained minor damage.

Weather was clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

Criminal charges and a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint are pending.
