BOSTON, MA — Two people were arrested Thursday in connection with a January shooting during a home invasion in Dorchester.

Justin Martin, 31, of Wellesley, and Jahde Nitschke, 18, of Wellesley, were taken into custody at approximately 6 a.m. at 40 Williams Street in Wellesley.

The arrests followed a month-long investigation by District B-3 detectives into a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:13 a.m. on Jan. 25, 2026.

Officers responded to Boston Medical Center for a walk-in gunshot victim, a 45-year-old man who had sustained a serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Detectives determined the victim had been shot inside his Dorchester residence during an apparent coordinated home invasion involving four suspects.

According to the investigation, the victim had invited a female acquaintance to his apartment, who arrived with a second female companion.

The second female left the apartment to get food but returned shortly afterward empty-handed.

Upon her return, two male suspects entered the apartment armed, one with a handgun and the other with a shotgun.

The suspect armed with the handgun discharged the firearm, striking the victim.

Following the shooting, the victim was sprayed with an unknown substance by one of the female suspects.

All four suspects fled the apartment shortly afterward.

Detectives identified a vehicle observed leaving the area after the shooting and executed a search warrant at the victim’s residence, recovering ballistic evidence.

The arrests were made during a coordinated operation involving B-3 detectives, the District B-3 Anti-Crime Unit, the Boston Police Department SWAT Team and the Wellesley Police Department.

A search of the apartment resulted in the seizure of cell phones, clothing believed to have been worn during the home invasion and a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield .40 caliber firearm containing eight rounds of ammunition.

Detectives also towed a vehicle located outside the residence for further investigation.

Martin is charged with home invasion, assault and battery by discharging a firearm, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.

Nitschke is charged with home invasion and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

Both defendants are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Anyone with information is urged to contact District B-3 Detectives at (617) 343-4712.
