UTICA, NY — Two people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a juvenile victim.
Utica police responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 23 in the 1200 block of Walnut Street.
The juvenile victim told police they were walking home from school when they were approached by several people wearing masks who demanded property.
One male in the group lifted his waistband and displayed a handgun, while another forcibly ripped a bag and other property from the victim.
The group fled and the victim walked home.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Juvenile Aid Division investigated and identified two suspects.
On Feb. 26, both suspects were located and arrested.
Ja’hmear Sullivan, 18, of Utica, and a 13-year-old male were each charged with second-degree robbery.
The 13-year-old was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Probation/Family Court.
