MANLIUS, NY — A traffic stop on Collamer Road led to the arrest of a Syracuse man on multiple drug charges.
Jacob Mekete, 29, of Syracuse, was stopped by Town of Manlius Police at approximately 11:24 p.m. Feb. 21, 2026, in the 7300 block of Collamer Road.
Officers found 27.4 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 27.1 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and cut up plastic baggies consistent with the packaging of narcotic substances during the stop.
Mekete was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, an A2 felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, a B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, an A misdemeanor; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, an A misdemeanor.
He was also cited for inadequate plate lamps and an unsecured plate.
Mekete is being held at the Justice Center without bail.
