GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department is investigating two burglaries that occurred in the Glenville section of town on Thursday.
Police received a report of a possible burglary in progress at approximately 7:11 p.m.
The reporting party advised that two unidentified males were observed on surveillance cameras inside an unoccupied residence.
Multiple patrol units responded immediately to the area and established a perimeter.
Upon investigation, officers confirmed that a burglary had occurred at the residence.
The two subjects had fled prior to police arrival.
Multiple K-9 units were deployed and attempted to track in the surrounding area with negative results.
Drone assistance was also utilized during the search.
As officers continued their investigation, a second residence in the same neighborhood was discovered to have been burglarized.
Police extended appreciation to neighboring jurisdictions for their assistance.
Residents are reminded to take preventative measures to reduce the risk of burglary, including locking all doors and windows, even when leaving for short periods, setting alarm systems when away from home, ensuring exterior lighting is functional, utilizing surveillance cameras where possible and promptly reporting any suspicious activity to police.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
