ROTTERDAM, NY — State Police arrested two Schenectady men on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 890.
Ammar K. Elordi, 36, of Schenectady, and Brian K. Jackson, 38, of Schenectady, were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, a class A felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.
Elordi was also charged with violations of vehicle and traffic laws.
Troopers assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit stopped a vehicle on I-890 at approximately 10:29 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2026, for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
Elordi was identified as the driver and Jackson as a passenger in the vehicle.
During the investigation, K9 “J” was utilized, leading to the discovery and seizure of approximately 630 grams of a substance that later field-tested positive for containing cocaine from the vehicle.
Elordi and Jackson were arrested at the scene and transported to State Police Latham for processing.
They were then transported to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
