Six arrested after armed home invasion in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA — Six suspects, including four juveniles, were arrested Monday in connection with an armed home invasion that left two men held captive for two days.

Springfield Police officers responded to Walnut Street at approximately 6:50 p.m. for a well-being check.

Officers located two adult male victims who stated they had been held against their will for two days inside their Mill Street apartment.

One victim was struck in the head with a firearm, police said.

The victims told officers one of the suspects, Shareem Brown, was known to them and several other individuals were involved.

The suspects were allegedly selling drugs out of the apartment, according to police.

The victims were able to flee their apartment Monday and contact police.

Both victims denied medical attention.

Officers responded to the apartment in the 0-100 block of Mill Street.

Three subjects were detained inside the apartment and four others fled on foot.

Officers quickly detained the four fleeing subjects, all 16-year-old males.

Officers recovered a loaded firearm from one of the juvenile suspects.

Marijuana was also seized from one of the teens, police said.

The four juveniles were placed under arrest.

Two of the three subjects inside the apartment were also arrested.

Shareem Brown, 33, of Springfield, is charged with home invasion, kidnapping and witness intimidation.

Megan Digregorio, 33, of Springfield, is charged with home invasion, kidnapping, witness intimidation, possession of a Class A drug and an arrest warrant.

The names, specific charges and booking photos of the juveniles will not be released due to their age.
