COLONIE, NY — State Police arrested a Hammond man early Monday morning on multiple drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 787.
Kendall M. Bachman, 48, of Hammond, was taken into custody at approximately 2:04 a.m. after troopers stopped a vehicle for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
During the investigation, police said they found felony-weight narcotics, drug paraphernalia and an illegally possessed bladed weapon in the vehicle.
Bachman claimed ownership of all items seized, according to police.
The driver received tickets for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations and was released along with two other passengers.
Bachman was transported to State Police barracks in Latham for processing, where additional narcotics were discovered concealed on his person, police said.
He faces two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony; four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Bachman was arraigned at Colonie Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
