CUBA, NY — A Wellsville man was arrested following a narcotics investigation on Feb. 24, 2026.
Deonte D. Smith, 43, of Wellsville, was arrested at approximately 8:22 p.m. by the Cuba Police Department Narcotics Unit.
Smith was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony, and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony.
The charges stem from the alleged illegal sale of methamphetamine in the town and village of Cuba.
Smith was processed and sent to the Allegany County Jail.
The Cuba Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police.
