BATH, NY — Members of the Village of Bath Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Geneva Street on Jan. 25, 2026, for a report of a physical domestic in progress.
The call came in at approximately 7:52 a.m.
Upon investigation, Jacob Edwards-Gavette, 29, of Bath, was determined to be the primary aggressor.
Edwards-Gavette was taken into custody and charged with attempted criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class B misdemeanor, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
Edwards-Gavette was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment where he was released.
